Welcome to Delaware Dachshunds! Here at Delaware Dachshunds I breed and raise Miniature Dachshunds because I have such a love and passion for the Dachshund breed. I breed this wonderful, clever and loving dog for health and temperament. I breed for quality not quantity. My puppies are raised in my home and not in a kennel. My puppies are my babies and they are held and loved from day one. I try to introduce them to as many different situations as I can so they become well socialized, happy with sweet & loving dispositions. When they start to walk around I bring them out to run around with the rest of the family and to get them used to people coming and going, the other dogs, to kids holding and playing with them, and the everyday noises like the vacuum, TV, etc. They also go outside and run around in the yard weather permitting. My babies are very important to me. I love them and spoil them everyday so when they go to their new forever home I expect that you will love and spoil them in the same way that they are accustomed to and even more so. I always have first pick of any puppy from any litter. I hold the right to not sell a puppy to anyone that I feel would not be a good fit for the puppy or that I feel will not be responsible in caring for and loving the puppy. Your puppy will come to you up to date on shots and worming and with their limited AKC registration application or their CKC registration application, (unless puppies are sold with no registration papers), shot records, a magnet with my info on it for your fridge, a couple puppy pads, a puppy food kit and a blanket with the scent of their mother & litter mates on it, 2-3 toys, paperwork with information about your new puppy and info on the first 48 hours with your new puppy, coupons, sample food with a can of wet food and a small bag of dry food and a folder to keep all their paperwork and shot records in. All my puppies are on Royal Canin x-small mini puppy food. My puppies will not be given Full AKC registration or breeding rights and all are sold with legally binding spay/neuter contracts as pet puppies only. Please read my contract on the contract page on this website. I will rarely ever give Full AKC breeding rights and if I do it's only to reputable breeders who I'm familiar with and who are experienced and educated not only with breeding and whelping Dachshund puppies but who are also educated in the genetics of the Dachshund breed. You must also agree in writing to never breed a Dapple to Dapple to produce double Dapples. All reputable breeders must have excellent references from a licensed vet who has experience and knowledge of you as a Dachshund breeder and who also takes care of the dogs that you breed and the puppies you raise. Not all puppies would be approved for breeding. Again if you're not an experienced reputable breeder with everything I require above then please do not ask me Full AKC registration for breeding rights to my puppies. If I feel that your true intentions are to get a puppy for breeding and are lying about it I will not allow you to adopt one of my puppies at all. A Deposit of 200.00 in person or 208.00 through PayPal is required for all puppies and must be put down on a puppy to hold it for you until it is 8 weeks old and ready to go to their new forever home. No puppy will be held without a deposit NO exceptions. All deposits that are put down on a puppy are NON-Refundable. If you change your mind and decide not to get the puppy you placed a deposit on the deposit can be used towards another puppy from any litter for up to 2 years from the deposit date but no deposits are refundable for any reason. Please be sure you are a very serious and committed buyer that has the time, patience, finances and most importantly love to give to your new puppy. He/she will need a lot of your time, attention, love & affection, and praise from you as he/she joins their new family and forever home with you. Some Dachshunds can live up to 20+ years so remember that when making your decision to adopt a puppy because I only want my puppies to go to Forever Homes only. At anytime of your puppys/dogs life if you cant keep your puppy/dog for any reason I will help you to find a new approved forever home for the puppy/dog to go to or I will take the puppy/dog back and I will find him/her another approved forever home. There will be no money refunded for the puppy/dog if you need to return the pup back to me for rehoming or any reason but please let me know if you can not keep your puppy/dog so I can help you find a home because I need to know where all my puppies are living and with who at all times throughout the dogs lifetime. I don't ever want any of my puppy's to end up in a pound or shelter so if you cant keep your puppy/dog please let me know. I understand that things can happen in life like job loss, illness, etc. that can change your life situation so please don't be embarrassed or scared to ask me for help if you cant keep your puppy/dog at anytime in the dogs life. To love your dog you sometimes have to do whats best for the dog so there's no need to feel uncomfortable to contact me if your life changes and you can no longer keep your dog or puppy. Always remember the puppy/dog can come back to me for rehoming with no questions asked. All puppies will be priced differently depending on color, pattern, size and gender of the puppy. Miniature Dachshund puppies that will be under 8 pounds as an adult are unofficially called Micro Mini's and they range in size from 5-7 pounds and are very tiny and will be priced higher than the 8 to 11 pound miniature size. The Tweenie size which is another unofficial size is a dog that is 12 pounds to 16 pounds and is in between size of the miniature and the standard Dachshund. There is no difference in price for a miniature Dachshund that's 8-11 lbs or a tweenie size that's 12-16 lbs. Only the 5-7 lb micro minis are priced differently. I do not breed Standard size Dachshunds or wire hair Dachshunds. A legally binding spay/neuter contract on all puppies must be signed before the puppy can leave my home. Proof of the puppy being spayed/neuter must be sent back to me by a date to be determined by me but is normally by 7 months of age. If your puppy can not be fixed by the date in your contract then you must get a letter from your vet stating the medical reason why the dog can not be spayed/neutered in the time frame given and when the vet thinks the puppy will be able to go through the surgery. I am not hard to work with just let me know what's going on and I will work with you. If you avoid me about why the puppy is not fixed then I will seek legal action. So just be honest if you need help financially I will work with you to get the puppy fixed. I can give you names and numbers to clinics that will spay/neuter the puppy at a much lower cost. There is also a program through the state and if you qualify the puppy can be spayed/neutered for only 20.00. So if there are any problems with getting your puppy fixed let me know and I can help. Though I give you an estimated idea what size the puppy will be as an adult I can not guarantee the size of any puppy. I can only give you an estimate from my experience with prior litters born to the same parents and also from the size my adult dogs who are the parents of the puppy. Size can never be guaranteed. If you have any questions or if you would like to be placed on my notification list and be notified of when puppies are born just contact me and I can go over everything with you. Once on the notification list if you don't find what your looking for in one litter you can just stay on the notification list and you will be notified when the next litter of puppies are born and so on. If you end up getting a puppy elsewhere though please let me know so I can remove your name off the notification list. You can text me for a faster response or email me at kmber1966@verizon.net my cell number to text me is 302-561-4803. I tend to return texts and emails alot faster than I do returning calls and to be honest I am horrible at checking my voice mail LoL. But I do check my texts as they come in so if you want to ask a question or be placed on the notification list you will receive the fastest response from me by text. If you have an emergency or just need to talk to me immediately on the phone then text me your name, number and what the emergency is and I will call you back immediately or as soon as I'm able to. Or if you just prefer to talk on the phone and want to receive a faster return call just send me a text with your name, number and what you would like to discuss and I will call you back when I receive it or as soon as I am able to. It sometimes may take me a day or two to get back to you I sometimes get alot of puppy inquiries at the same time and try to get back to everyone in the order I receive an inquiry. You must text or email me before placing a deposit on a puppy just to be sure it is still available and I try to keep the information updated on each available puppy on the available puppy page. I do try to keep my page updated at all times to show if a puppy is on hold or sold but since deposits are non-refundable you must inquire first before placing a deposit on any puppy. No one else can place a deposit on the puppy you placed a deposit on. Deposits are 200.00 in person or 208.00 through PayPal with the 8.00 going towards PayPal fees and the 200.00 being the deposit. Anytime PayPal is used you must add 4% of the amount being paid to the payment to pay for the PayPal fees I am charged. Any balance owed on the puppy must be paid in full by the time the puppy is 8 weeks old or the balance can be paid at pick up with cash in hand and a receipt is given. NO CHECKS or MONEY ORDERS will be accepted for deposits or on final payment when you pick up the puppy. Once the puppy is 8 weeks old it must be picked up on the pick up date I provide you. If you have vacation plans or will not be available during the pick up date the puppy is suppose to be picked up by then please choose a puppy at another time. I do offer a pick of the litter for any litter for a fee of 100.00 I understand the fee is high but it's to keep everyone from wanting pick of the litter which was a problem in the past so I had to raise the fee. Pick of the litter means you have first choice of a puppy from the litter to what ever colors, pattern/s, coats are born. If you're looking for a certain color that color may not be born so pick of the litter may not be the best option for you if your'e wanting a particular color or a pattern that can't be guaranteed to be born in the litter. So pick of the litter gives you first see and first choice before anyone else is notified of the litter and you will have 7 days to make your decision as to which puppy you want to choose before everyone else is notified of the litter. So you wouldn't want to pay for pick of the litter for a certain color since that color may not be born its only for whatever colors and patterns are born in that litter you would have first choice to pick a puppy from the litter. I can not guarantee what colors, patterns or gender will be born in a litter I can only say what can be produced in the litter. Puppies that are sometimes still available are not always placed on this site so you can contact me to see if I have puppies left available. If you have any questions or would like to be placed on the notification list please text me at 302-561-4803. Thank you, Kim.
